The future of connectivity

by Siamak Ebadi

Why are there still 4 billion unconnected in the world? What economic and technological realities drive this? Who’s responsible and who's trying to fix it? What are the solutions and where are the opportunities? This seminar was designed to search for the answers to these questions.

Siamak Ebadi has spent his career addressing various aspects of satellite and long-distance telecommunications. In 2019, Siamak founded UTVATE to address one of the major pain points in global connectivity. Before UTVATE, Siamak was with Astranis where he built and led the Radio Frequency (RF) team. Before joining Astranis, he was with SpaceX's satellite program (Starlink) in Seattle as a Sr. Antenna Engineer. Siamak has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from TMU, Iran, is a Senior member of IEEE Antennas and Propagation (AP) and Microwave Theory and Technique (MTT) societies, and has 50 patents in antenna engineering.
